When the conditions are right, psychotherapy can provide an opportunity for our deepest anxieties and troubles to come forward and be worked with safely.
I provide psychotherapy to adolescents and adults in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle.
In a therapy process, we will thoughtfully explore the less familiar aspects of your experience. We will make connections between different parts of your life—like your past experiences and present ones—for a deeper understanding of who you are and what might be getting in your way.
I have a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Washington and a master’s degree in mental health counseling from Seattle University.
I enjoy and have experience working with a diverse range of clients, including:
individuals who experienced ongoing, repeated trauma in childhood (sometimes called “complex trauma”),
individuals experiencing high levels of anxiety, including social anxiety,
individuals who have experienced rejection or marginalization on the basis of their sexuality or gender identity,
individuals with autistic traits,
individuals with self-esteem, sense-of-self, or identity concerns,
and individuals with ongoing relationship problems.
Through personal experience I’ve come to believe that meaningful change can only come through deep self-understanding, and that this takes time, patience, careful attention, and some discomfort. Psychotherapy offers a unique space and relationship where this exploration and growth can happen.
In our sessions I will listen to you, paying close attention to your story, your sense of yourself, and your emotional experiences. We will work together to develop a clearer understanding of who you are, what is getting in your way, and how you might move forward.
